Redshift is a foundling, deposited in the care of a bemused and slightly disturbed couple one stormy November night, during the greatest recorded storm of the Leonid meteors. Such stellar influence could not be denied, and the child soon developed an unhealthy interest in iron, especially iron with edges. After many years of study, and not a little injury, Redshift is skilled in a variety of combat arts, with particular emphasis on the Japanese sword. Her main weapon at present is a gift from Elektra: A katana, the blade shinogi-zukuri with iori-mune, torii-zori and a chu-kissaki; masame-hada, and a suguha hamon in ko-nie deki. Whilst not particularly gregarious, Redshift frequents the cake stop on a regular basis. Normally to be found lurking in a corner with a book, she watches the comings and goings in a slightly absent manner, only dipping into the fray when her interest is piqued. She is known to have an alter ego, who has a meaner streak and fewer inhibitory circuits, but most of the time this twin is mercifully absent. Her habitual steed is a Windcheetah tricycle, known as 'The Trike' or more informally 'Speedy', which flies the Jolly Roger. She eschews personal decoration, preferring to remain outside the bounds of both fashion and taste, and conforming only so far as is necessary to avoid unpleasantness. The first chance you get Distinguishing features: Bloody great big sword, and a tendency to sideslip if you try to hit her. Did I mention the sword? MEMO Big pointy sticks seemed like a good idea for this one. Sadly, she knows how to use those too. That's what happened to Charlie. Then she got the sword out. Did you know you could do that with a sword? It came right off and landed in the footwell. I was nearly sick. I was absolutely covered in... well, anyway. There's a sword, so be careful. Stand a long way away. It's very sharp.  |
